This is how I feel completely. I am patient and never believe anything the media says about the president so I pray this is not true. If we legalize 1.8 million dems ,and it will be way more than that, and all we get is some trust fund for a wall and few concessions on border security, I am done. President Trump will have broken the biggest promise of his campaign and it wil be an enormous betrayal, he will lose a great deal of his base and be surrounded by gutless republicans who hate him and dems who want to impeach him

Who is going to pay for this wall, where is the money going to come from. Trump has already added to the deficit with lowering taxes. And now he wants to add more to it. What happened to the republican deficit hawks. Did they just cave to him. Why do we want to our children and future generations to pay for something they don't even have a vote on. I'm still in agreement with others to start a go fund me account to pay for the wall instead of leaving our kids to pay for it.

Our declining birthrate and an aging population is an economic disaster- see Japan since the 1990s. Who is going to work to pay for all the pensions, the healthcare, etc. etc. for an increasingly older and unproductive 65+ population? Our entire economic system at the moment basically depends on it. Secondly, it's been proven that immigrants (and especially high skilled ones) create more jobs, open more business and 'contribute' more to the economy than native born Americans do on average. Letting in more doctors, engineerings, tech people, entrepreneurs, etc. who start companies, create jobs, pay more in taxes, etc. is a very good thing economically. Anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't understand economics.
This discussion is about illegal immigration not legal immigration. However, I have no problem with importing legal immigrants based on the merit system but not just importing immigrants just for the sake of having more warm bodies here to prop up the Ponzi scheme. Better to get past the baby boomer generation that is retiring than to start another one all over again. A smaller population to fit a smaller economy which doesn't stretch our natural and social resources over the limit would make for a much healthier country in so many ways for the future.
