It wouldn't surprise me to see ANOTHER retraction from the NY Times or another "reporter" getting fired.

The Times has less credibility they the National Enquirer!

"President Trump ordered the firing last June of Robert S. Mueller III, the special counsel overseeing the Russia investigation, according to four people told of the matter, but ultimately backed down after the White House counsel threatened to resign rather than carry out the directive.

The West Wing confrontation marks the first time Mr. Trump is known to have tried to fire the special counsel. Mr. Mueller learned about the episode in recent months as his investigators interviewed current and former senior White House officials in his inquiry into whether the president obstructed justice.

After receiving the president’s order to fire Mr. Mueller, the White House counsel, Donald F. McGahn II, refused to ask the Justice Department to dismiss the special counsel, saying he would quit instead, the people said. They spoke on the condition of anonymity because they did not want to be identified discussing a continuing investigation.
Mr. McGahn disagreed with the president’s case and told senior White House officials that firing Mr. Mueller would have a catastrophic effect on Mr. Trump’s presidency. Mr. McGahn also told White House officials that Mr. Trump would not follow through on the dismissal on his own. The president then backed off.
Ty Cobb, the president’s lawyer who manages the White House’s relationship with Mr. Mueller’s office, said in a statement, “We decline to comment out of respect for the Office of the Special Counsel and its process.”"

Sure...of course..out of 'respect'...ROTFLMAO!
This is no big deal anyway..just a story of how Trump was saved from himself..in a way..it's a win for the Trumpkins.

There is no White House denial..that is telling--and the players..are the very ones saving Trump from himself
A simple question. CAN Trump, as the Chief Executive of the federal government fire him if he wanted to?

Do you really hear yourself? You law and order Republicans are attacking the chief law enforcement agency that this country has. I hope that the FBI investigates the RNC.

There's a point where I wonder if FOX has crossed the line by spinning all of these conspiracy theories and may be seditious.

I was around for Watergate and this is starting to stink with the same stench.

Amazing that this has been under wraps since June 2017. It makes a lot more sense now, because it was a nine day wonder to think that Trump would allow Mueller to continue his investigation without an effort to shut him down.

It might never even have happened. It could have all just been leaked. By someone like Seth Rich.

Anyway, evidence of a crime means just that....EVIDENCE. in the absence of any evidence that a US person within the chain of command of the investigate authority of DOJ was involved, there can be no conflict of interest.
Yes you are correct that the FBI could have proceeded in a normal investigation, that is exactly what Comey was doing until he was fired by Trump. The special prosecutor was appointed because Trump didn't like the investigation into his campaign.

All the intelligence agencies agreed that Russia was at the root of the hacking and the other things like Facebook plants to steer our election. The DOJ tipped off Trump about Flynn being compromised and then they fired him, they claim it was because he lied to Pence but I'm betting it was for other reasons.

One lie after another, Fox has been actively promoting Republican propaganda for years.

For a guy with nothing to hide, Trump sure did go out of his way to make sure everyone that might be investigating him was fired.

If there's "no there there," wouldn't Trump want the Mueller investigation to play out, as it would vindicate him?
