Putin is not a King, he is the head of a party. And he, just like every other political leader, has to answer to the wealthy business interests, as well as to the elites in the military, the information services, etc.

He has to deal with challenges from other party members, and the opposing parties.

The reason Putin stays in power, is not because he kills or intimidates his opposition. These people who were killed, were basically nobodies. They were no threat to Putin. They weren't going to defeat him in an election, or any other such absurdity.

What these people were, were threats to the system itself.

One of the men killed, had basically betrayed the modern equivalent of the KGB. Others had leaked "state secrets" and then defected to other countries(IE what Edward Snowden did). They were enemies, not of Putin, but of the Russian State. And the Russian state, whether it was Putin or not, did what governments do when threatened.

Putin will stay in power only so long as he keeps the "oligarchs" on his side. Without support from the Russian money, he would be paraded through the streets and hung in Red Square.

I'm not saying Putin is a good guy. I would never say that. He is a politician. One of the requirements for being a politician at the highest levels, is to be a lying, hypocritical, narcissistic Machiavellian sociopath.

Otherwise you get to take a short trip through Dallas in the back of a convertible.

Russia is a threat simply because it is capable of defending itself from the west unlike some governments we've dealt with in the past. Like it or not people Russia is here to stay, Putin will be around for at least another term. If you want to change Russia you change how you deal with Russia. They're not going to be building Guards armies in their western districts (European Russia) if NATO isn't putting in missile system capable of launching cruise missiles at them and scattering brigades of tanks all over eastern Europe.

On one hand the west points out all the corruption in Russia yet on the other western institutions welcome the funds that that corruption brings, at the expense of the people of Russia. Do you think your average Russian doesn't know what is going on there? Why should Ivan and Anna walking down the street listen to some prostitute of the west? They may actually be worse off if they do.

If you're going to gain the trust of Russians, win it, you need to change their reality. That's not going to happen because in reality the west has nothnig different to offer, just more of the same. What we have here in Russias politcial establishment and ours is simply 2 groups of parasitcal elites fighting for the best location to suck the blood of the host. It's never going to change as far as I can see.

And to anyone that cares about this subject Erasure knows what she is talking about. Kudos Erasure!!!

Vladimir Putin is an ex-KGB guy and he absolutely despises America. He is also directly responsible for the deaths of several reporters and censoring the media.

Yes, he is a bad guy.

You have to consider also the fact that some of those people were worth more to the anti Putin cause dead than alive.

Your proof? How many reporters died since we put our junta in power in Kiev? There's a minimum of 12 I believe.

Russia is an ally of the u.s. despite all the non-sense people discuss and believe.

Here's an example. Impose sanctions on russia so other countries like germany cannot buy russian gas, but then the u.s. themselves buy russian gas. Same goes for all types of businesses, create artificial opposition to suppress the rest, while the two on top can have corrupt control over the world. Pretty clever.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/busin...=.89816fe34743

Edit: The control is not evenly distributed. On the (right) economic side the u.s. has the upper hand by a good stretch, on the (left) ideological side russia and its socialist ideas. This two have influenced the whole world, and people argue from left/right like they have absolute validity. What people can't see is that neither is absolute but only partially valid, and both sides are missing an essential component.

If you still don't know what I'm talking about here's my last post.

My question was - why, when America is pushing its way to rule the world, it should get a green light?

He poisons his political enemies. Over here we just have them shot and then say it was a robbery or a suicide.
