How do you know Americans don't know what the dreamers are, or what DACA is? Polls generally explain it before asking respondents for an answer.

What makes the polls a "disgusting lie"?

People are likely familiar that there are pathways to citizenship. I'd be very surprised if they didn't know that. You should give Americans more credit.
Most Americans don’t know the pathway to citizenship already existed.

Although there is a lot of uncertainty around dreamers and DACA, you should probably let go of this fantasy. I don't see a realistic scenario where mass deportation occurs.

It would be incredibly unpopular politically, and would cost a great deal of money to implement.

I think people are informed enough to realize that what is being proposed is an exception to the traditional process.

Another thread already had my compromise; come here 14 and under, you can stay but never be a citizen, or you can leave and get in line like everyone else and be a citizen.

Over 14 when you came here, you are to leave, but will not hold it against you if you leave by the scheduled date, you can still jump in line like everyone else.

I do not think these people should get special treatment over those who abide by US laws.

Mass, no, as permits expire pretty much each day for 18 months. Gradual deportation is likely, each of those days.

Because it is gradual, it would not be noticed. Just a bunch of new tomato pickers each day, for 550 days or so.

An unlikely scenario.

Dreamers are very likely here to stay. The issue is how we deal with them here.

This fantasy of deporting them is very unrealistic.

You should probably mentally prepare for this.

Temporary work visas for dreamers only. The only path to citizenship is self deportation and apply like the millions waiting in line.

I think that’s more than fair because we don’t owe them squat!
