gdp was over 3% for the last two quarters and expected to continue to be over 3% this entire year. wages are up. manufacturing is up. workers are getting a tax cut and will keep more money they earned from their paycheck. consumer confidence is up. unemployment is down.
GDP for the 4th quarter of 2017 was 2.6%. GDP for the year of 2017 was 2.3%.
That's a significant story - especially as we're entering the mid-term election cycle. The more informed/engaged you are politically, the more likely you are to approve of the president's performance and now the divide between the average adult and only somewhat engaged is significant. It also demonstrates that the most informed adults weren't persuaded by the tale tales in Wolff's book, weren't moved by s-hole gate and didn't blame President Trump for the partial government shutdown. As indicated on Wednesday, Democrats actually suffered a 3.4% decline on the generic ballot week over week and were the ones who "lost" the shutdown in the eyes of Americans.
Gallup weekly has Trump at 36% The democratic advantage in generic polls has narrowed but I'm not sure what that can be attributed to, I don't think it's clear that it was the shutdown, and I never expected Wolff's book to make people change the way they would vote, usually voting preferences are pretty much baked in and hard to change based on any single event.
RCP chart shows his approval at 44% the day he was sworn in and it's at about 40%, now. Some polls show 45%.
But it also shows a bottoming out on Dec 15th. 38%.
But you shouldn't worry. Maxine is going to clobber him after the State of Union, and Pocahontas & Booker will duke it out for the nomination. I think the Dems will be alright.

I am personally supporting a ticket of Maxine Waters-P, Elizabeth Warren-VP. Some choice language by the delegates will show the depth of the anger at Trump.

Me too, those two are the future of the Democratic party
I'm also laughing all the way to the bank so who cares about the Clinton cartel. It is a real joy to have someone who understands more than affirmative action to buy votes and who understands the economy. I hope Water does run to expose her hate and her one trick pony - it should give the Trump voters a good laugh.
I don't care what they say about him, he is not fake. What you see is what you get and I love a real person. I love a person that works hard, that can get up every morning with plans to help rather than hurt, not afraid to call it as he sees it, has understanding, compassion and wisdom, not afraid, loves our country, his family and US. Go Trump!
