It's not a binary choice, economic cycles do not conveniently coincide with elections. 2.06 million jobs were created in 2017, that's the lowest number since 2011- should Trump be blamed for that? Probably not because he was not in office long enough, nor did he pass any legislation that would have influenced job growth during his first year in office. If Trump is not re-elected, the next President probably can't be praised or blamed for the economy during the first year or so of their term.
Exactly-- I don't blame or credit Trump for most of the economic activity in 2017.
I will reserve judgement with this new tax bill (the only real piece of legislation passed).
We have had 96 months of positive job growth.....2017 using your numbers of 2.06 million means we were down from 2016 (I thought they were roughly the same).....could be things are slowing.
After his Davos trip the Trump train has accelerated 110%, I've seen churches with Trump signs on the outside and even people who didn't vote for him coming around (and that's in Maryland!)
he is shooting up in the poles, dems are losing their heads, he's killing it on twitter. NOTHING can stop the Trump train now.
Libs are getting so desperate they're advertising polls from last year before the tax cut bill.
The economy has been in a place I haven't seen any time in recent history, people are loving it.
MAGA forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SO what you're saying is, you ain't tired of winning yet huh?
If Trump has a year 2 like year 1, the Democrats are going to go completely bananas. If the stock market keeps going and GDP starts taking off as I think it will with the tax overhaul, Dems are going to lose record seats for a party that doesn't control the White House.
Pretty low bar. Highest rating has been 45% and he has spent more time below 40% than any president ever. He holds the record for the lowest rating of any presidents first year. So relatively speaking, if his popularity gets above 40%, he is "booming".
