So why do we need to add to the national debt?

Now that the good times are here, why aren't we paying it down?
Don't you know, Republicans only care about the debt when a Democrat is in office.

I agree, we should be paying the debt down and then give tax cuts not before.

Wow - suddenly NOW all my fellow Dems are worried about the next generation and how we'll get out of debt?

Where have you folks been?

I think the point they are trying to make is during Obama's Presidency that's all the Republicans talked about was the growing deficit....and now it doesn't matter.

I think you are misunderstanding some of the concern about the debt -- it's about the hypocrisy of the conservatives and their 'fiscal policies'.

People who won't acknowledge the hypocrisy of their own side should shut up about the hypocrisy of the other side - otherwise they're nothing more than hypocrites.

Yep. Voted Dem here in the last two elections. Don't really care about the debt, but Republicans SURE did under Obama. Now they don't care--like me. HYPOCRITES. But I'm not. Cuz I don't care whoever is president.

We are looking at the party that refused infrastructure spending eight years ago, refused anything that would help the country during a terrible recession because of deficits, vote to increase the deficit by $1.4 TRILLION within months of controlling all three branches of government.
Republicans are complete and utter frauds.

But they do care. That's why trump wants to reduce spending. But every time he suggests cutting something, leftists start crying about how it will "hurt the poor and benefit the rich".

Take a class in economics then place a comment on the subject.
No one is borrowing money when there is a tax cut.

Yeah I get that -- but you would think - fiscal conservatives would make sure the cuts were in place before they started spending or giving away revenue.

Just own it -- just say -look -- the hope is the deficit won't continue to increase exponentially -- but to not address the deficit as a concern really does have a whole lot of hypocrisy floating around.
