In a world where a woman can now be a doctor, an astronaut, a lawyer, a race car driver, an engineer or any other of a myriad of professions that were once closed to her, the loss of "empty-headed eye candy" as a career goal is a small one by comparison.

In the early 1990s my mother, and a bunch of other women in their 60s, were in an exercise group together in their affluent SF Bay Area suburb. One of the women, older than my mother, was a retired physician who had raised her kids in the same community along with her late husband, who had also been a physician.
I graduated from high school in the 1970s, and a number of the women I went to high school and college with became doctors, lawyers, and engineers.
Lauren-Jade sounds overly defensive but some other grid girls were interviewed and have said that some of them do depend on this as a primary source of income. Any loss of jobs and income for women is a bad thing.
It is not for anyone else to dictate what any woman (or any person) should be doing for work. Leftists want jobs they do not approve of eliminated, this includes many low income jobs, blue collar traditionally male jobs, and now modeling jobs for women. Shaming these women for doing this promotional work is disgusting.
Couldn't be anymore ironic if they tried. I have wondered if feminists that complain about women that are strippers and the like realize if they get their wish that would cause a lot of women to lose their jobs.

Even in the 90's women lagged way behind in those occupations. I recall an episode of All in the Family. It was 1973. Gloria told the doctor riddle and everyone was stumped. That is how rare it was that a woman was a physician especially a surgeon. Today the answer would be so obvious that it really couldn't be a riddle.
Until the late 1960's job ads were sex segregated: Female help wanted-Male help wanted. Actually it was 1973 when the Supreme court upheld a ban on sex segregated job ads.

I have no idea why you and others think every single woman (and man) wants to be some damn highly educated, high responsibility having worker. Fact is many want nothing to do with it, and are comfortable and enjoy doing the "empty-headed eye candy" type jobs. Not everyone strives to be a CEO or manager, not everyone strives to be the PhD and engineer, some simply want to do things they enjoy, getting paid for it is even better.
