Melania was laughed at by the Loonies for being gauche. This story has surfaced again courtesy of Michelle Obama appearing on Ellen DeGeneres' show. Ellen asked about that gift and Michelle said it had been against protocol so she didn't know what to do with the box.
Thanks to the magic of video, lo and behold we see Michelle bringing a gift for Laura Bush on Inauguration Day. 2nd video down, scroll ahead to 2:29. Oops!

You have to watch the clip of Michelle on Ellen -- she didn't say it was against protocol. She said they had told her there was a protocol and she was told exactly what to do and she did say 'never was there to be this gift' - -meaning -- nobody talked about her or prompted her she was getting a gift and then they all cleared out -- nobody was there to take the large box.
Really -- talk about looking for something that isn't there....dang it all.
Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive. Laura was one of our most gracious First Ladies. She managed to hold the gift box and have her picture made at the same time.
It was the box that caused the problem. The gift given to Laura Bush was not easily identified as being from a specific brand or company. It would be a very bad idea for any First Lady to be photographed with a box that could be misunderstood as a personal endorsement of a product or service.

You mean like Michelle wearing J. Crew and designer duds? Oooookaaaay...
This thread is to show, yet again, how there are double standards for the Loonies and for the rest of us. I thought Loonies went over the top when this happened at Trump's Inauguration but now I know they have to desperately hunt for negatives, i.e. Melania's high heels, color of her clothes, etc. They are a very superficial bunch if you've noticed.

Good try! LOL. The problem was the press trying to blame Mrs. Trump because Mrs. Obama cannot think on her feet. I am wondering why this is still being discussed. Why is it even important. Looks like just another way to find fault with the other side. I would think that "thank you" for the present should have been the end to it but we all know Ellen has no class. That's why I don't watch her.

Really -- you all need to check yourselves.
Glad to see there is someone to translate her rantings and ravings into English. Thanks.

It wasn't that either. It was a big box and nobody was there to help her out. She got flustered not with the Trumps with the whole situation.
Oye -- really -- enough !@#$ without looking for stuff that wasn't there.
