how do you "paralyze" the American political system? that is the definition of hysteria and paranoia.
Don't we have our media and reporters to tell us the "truth" and balance any lies from the evil Russians?
Can you bring me 1 or 2 examples of Russian lies that "undermine" or "paralyze" our political system to a point to this hysteria?
I posted a NYT report on the bi-partisan Senate hearings on these issues with quotes from the Senators and testimony given (with Senators taking note that "Russian agents spread nonpaid content through the creation of pages on Facebook dedicated to hot-button issues like race" and "the deployment of bots that amplify fake or misleading content or to the successful efforts of online trolls to promote divisive messages.").
I also posted a report from the Director of National Intelligence prepared in conjunction with the FBI, CIA and NSA (which concluded "with a high degree of confidence" that Russians had spread such misinformation).
I provided a PBS interview from yesterday with a discussion with a someone from John's Hopkins well-versed in these matters (commenting that the Russian trolls "always exploit existing conflicts, they exploit existing cracks in our political system, and then exacerbate these cracks and drive wedges into them. They don’t create new conflict, which is a really important insight. It’s not a distinction between fake and real, because they take a real conflict and make it worse.")
I posted a link to an article discussing, in detail, two popular twitter accounts manned by Russian bots that posted controversial information designed to stoke disagreement (taking note that the "ultimate intention of Russia’s propaganda campaign [is] to sow dissension and increase the racial divide among America’s voting populace") and another article involving a number of experts who confirmed this analysis ("The tried and tested way of active measures is to use an adversary’s existing weaknesses against himself, to drive wedges into pre-existing cracks")
This thread itself started with a video from a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee commenting on the "multiple aims of the Russians" that included "content designed to pin us against each other - to exploit our divisions".

How many more examples would you like?
How about one that shows that Hillary wasn't a cheating, lying, war mongering. wall street concubine?

you write a lot but can't give me 1 or 2 examples that Russian tried to "paralyzed" our democratic system.
if 2 twitter accounts can do that, then our system was never that good to begin with.

Yes, I figured it was only a matter of time before low information people started weighing in to call Hillary Clinton names. What an intelligent response.

If you don't want to read the underlying information, don't ask me to back up my statements.
I gave you 3 articles, specific congressional testimony, statements from Senators, a scholarly interview and a detailed intelligence report prepared by no fewer than 4 US intelligence agencies, replete with an index, identification of specific accounts designed to sow division and the content found thereon. I even provided you with quotes from each of them.
Its like that scene from Zoolander when Derek asks David Duchovny "but why male models?" and, right after Duchovny provides a detailed explanation, he pauses and asks, "yes, but why male models?"
You'd have to be a fool to think any of the "big dogs" of the world don't have wet dreams over the thought of ruling the whole damn globe... including Putin and friends, who are in direct competition with our American evil oligarchy and just as dirty. Neither of them are on "our" side.
The Second Amendment isn't really about owning the biggest pile of scary boomsticks possible... it's about the right to self-determination and is a crucial (if not the most crucial) element of the Individualist mindset in general.
There is no doubt in my mind that Russia wants to cause as many fractures and divisions in the USA as possible... as they only serve to weaken us. You can bet the Russians are doing whatever they can get away with to play both sides of the 2nd Amendment argument against each other.
Ah so those pesky Russians are why so many Americans defend the 2nd amendment. We should have known
If we are getting 10 more pages of that type of speculation and rhetoric, get the popcorn and strap in people.
