So it is OK to be outraged that a white girl would be chosen to play the part of a white character and then celebrate as genius when people of color play white characters (Hamilton)? Makes perfect sense in a world bereft of logic.
Social justice activists at a New York high school successfully shut down a production of “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” after a white student landed a lead role.
Protests of the production began when an African-American student quit Ithaca High School’s musical production due to the role of Esmeralda being given to a white classmate.

So this happened in Ithaca NY which some would call a loaf of white bread. According to the articles these students feel that a "minority" should receive the part because the author identified the character as half French half Roma and they describe the student receiving the part as "the young lady cast as Esmeralda was “a stellar actor, singer, and dancer” any production would be “lucky to have,” she couldn’t be cast in this role because she is the “epitome of whiteness.”".
So does this mean the protesters would support minorities being excluded from consideration in future parts because they are written for whites not blacks/others and to give them the role would be "At best, this is cultural appropriation,” ?
I mean if they object to what they describe as a"stellar" choice simply on her race then it must be acceptable to not choose them based on their race or maybe it is the lack of talent...

“It shows you that theater wasn’t made for you," the student told the Ithaca Journal. "And it shows you that, if you can’t get the parts that are written for you, what parts are you going to get?”
What a smug, self righteous waste of space. Who gave them the idea that the part was written for them? Disney?

Actors come in all colors. If any of these kids ever audition for Broadway, they will be up against anyone who can handle the role. I personally would still love to see Idris Elba play James Bond.

What are you talking about?
The kids pitched a fit claiming whitey is holding them down. It's not much ado about nothing.
And the Blacks make sure racism is alive and well and always in the forefront. Fallout from obama.
