It was never okay for black children to wish they were white but now it's desired for white children to wish they were anything except white. Her poor grandchild was probably thinking there must be something wrong with him because grandma preferred kids who look nothing like him. This is a perfect example of how kids form negative core beliefs that stay with them through adulthood.
I teach my children that they should love who they are and how they look. Everyone is different and unique.
I am not sure why Pelosi thought it was a good idea to share this info besides trying to show minorities that her grandchildren want to be just like them in order to gain some votes. Its very weird.
During the week of MLK day, my 1st grade six year old learned all about MLK and also about slaves and the underground railroad etc... he did come home one day and say, "I wish I was not white". I was flabbergasted. He explained it was because if he lived long ago he would have been mean and had to own slaves. I explained to him that he lives NOW and is the sweetest boy with all different friends and all that matters is that he treats everyone equally NOW. I felt bad that my 6 year old had guilt for something he had no part of.
I think Nancy's filibuster was to prove to the Progressives who want her to retire that she's still healthy at her advanced age. I dislike her but I think that is admirable and shows she stays in shape, at least physically.
They aren’t talking about just the DACA kids. If that’s all they cared about they would call Trump’s bluff and legalize 1.8 million of them. They’re doing this because they don’t want to secure the border or limit chain migration. We’re not stupid.
Yeah really. 700,000 DACA "kids" is already 1.8 million now and could be 10 million new citizen by the time it's all over and more illegals crossing the border. And all America gets is more red states turned blue and a T-shirt.
I have a family member who has to pretend to be of hispanic decent in school so she's not attacked for being white. She's italian.
