I came to this country with 2000$. I drove cabs, cleaned aircrafts, did other odd jobs and climbed my way up with my fingernails. Now I'm a manager in IT.
There is absolutely no freaking way that I'm going to risk my position. So, I'm sorry, women. No mentoring for you, no promoting to a lead position (where you will spend a lot of time with me), no hiring to my teams, unless you are old and fat.
Sorry ladies, you did it to yourself.

I've been mentored over the years from all kinds of guys -- you don't have to do it one on one at night in your office with the door closed.

It can happen -- full day llight -- all doors open -- all blinds opened in front of other people.

Mentoring isn't a little private affair. Maybe you all have a skewed view of mentoring.
Great. You win the argument. (although i'm not sure what you are saying up above....the door stays open most of the time - except when it makes sense to close it - which is kind of the purpose of doors, otherwise we wouldn't need them.)

But less women will be hired at many companies going forward. (especially in small businesses).

You stated "last century" and that would include 1950. The EEOC is 64% female, 60% minority. Men also face imitation and threats by other men and women (basically anyone) in positions of power. I have no idea where you get it is just a woman issue.
Waiting for that government study link that says there is no pay gap between women and men.

I sympathize with women seeking mentors but men have to protect themselves from the hysteria out there. There are too many women seeking their claim as victim.

That's it in a nutshell. And it goes beyond mentoring, extending to the normal job-related "outreach" activities. Business lunches? Nope. Men will drive there with other men, not with women. Private meetings? Forget it. Business travel? No way.

Men would be fools to subject themselves to the possibility of trumped-up charges of impropriety.

Yep. And who can blame you? See what I mean? #MeToo has totally screwed honest women.

There is a gap. And there are reasons for the gap.

The government isn't home right now. It's out making other fictitious studies to promote the idea it's needed to "solve" all of our "problems". Leave a message at the beep...

So men have to accept the fact that they will be fired and sued for things they may or may not have done because women want it that way?

Good luck running your company without men!

I won't work under those circumstances.
