Seems like the ones that were trying to 'game the system' by being paid 'under that table'- and didn't pay into SS, (therefore, HAVE no SS) are the ones that think SS is unfair. SS doesn't make people rich; the average payout is right at the official poverty level of $16320. Still, it can keep people off the street if they planned their lives AT ALL.

Not surprising that it doesn't fly well with the ones that played by the rules their whole lives- and paid their dues.

Conservative doctrine: unlimited deficit spending on big tax cuts for their corporate buddies! More deficit dollars for the Pentagon too! Social Security? Medicare? Oh, we gotta be frugal and cut back on those programs -- those are for the "little people." Need to watch the budget, you know.

If we raise the retirement age, what happens to RMDs? It doesn't make sense to say no money for retirement until age 75 but you HAVE to take money out of your 401k for retirement at age 70.5...

I had no issues getting a low level exec position with a major international furniture maker at age 53 and 10 years of self employment. I was able to do what the under 30 crowd could not: Pass a math test.

Are you also willing to remove the cap on distribution? If not, why not?

We should privatize the military.

How so? If the wage cap were removed, fairness would dictate that the distribution cap should be removed also. It's entirely possible they would cancel each other out. Surely, you're not suggesting a thinly veiled redistribution of wealth from those who earn over $128K to those who earn less? A "solution" that involves taking other people's money isn't a solution at all - it's theft.

why is it necessary to have the big government say we cant touch our money till 59.5??

if I chose to retire at say 55...why cant I touch MY (600k+) 401k, with out the government(IRS) penalizing me
