Clinton had the benefit of being in office during the internet boom.

Obama did allow the G.W. Bush tax cuts to be extended for a while longer.

What did Obama do to help the economy?

Again, the overall tax burden for the middle class (and poor) were lower.

The amount paid in income tax, in percent, for those two groups were less in 1989 than in 1981.

Don't try to start another R versus D issue. BOTH parties are responsible for this irresponsible run up of the national debt.

Medicare, Social Security and Defense spending need to be addressed but they will not be able to balance a budget on spending alone. Does what they just passed make any sense at all, we are running deficits yet they reduced taxes and increased defense spending. They will need to increase taxes at some point, there is no alternative.

Yes, as much as the righties whined about Obama they surely have changed their tune about spending. They have a plan though cooked up by Lyin Ryan. They want the debt number so large that they can either discontinue medicare and medicaid as we know it. Then they will work on cutting social security. I would love to see these politicians pensions cut and their salaries also. We aren’t getting our moneys worth with these people.
