A pressure cooker bomb would not have satisfied his desire to be there and physically watch the damage he was inflicting. Knives are too up close and personal for most mass killers and they can't stab that many people before being jumped on.

BS.

Knives are silent.

Apparently you and others have this idea of someone stabbing people as yelling and screaming as they stab people multiple times....

In a school with that many kids, in a crowded, noisy hallway with a sea of distracted kids milling about, you could quietly and calmly stab a dozen people before anyone knew what was happening.....

I disagreed.

Are you saying that if we banned all guns people wouln't commit mass killings with knives, pressure cookers, trucks, bombs etc?
No. Read my posts. There will always be bad people. It's only a matter of how soon we confront the person before they carry out their deed.

Ordering aluminum nitrate online or talking about killing someone may be a clue the perp's sibling or girlfriend would see. They have a choice-----engage and deter, or become complicit. We need to get serious about punishment.

I own a few guns and noone thinks I'm a threat. There's a reason for this.

What caused his Mental Illness?

The warning signs were obvious but nothing was done. I experience warning signs everyday in society yet nothing is done.

This has become our way of life.

I feel for all the families that went to that school and every other mass shooting.
This shooter had no prior felony convictions and had not been adjudicated as mentally ill. He legally purchased the firearm he used.

Then why don't these killers use knives and pressure cookers?

WHY?

You tell me. Americans own 450 million guns. How many pressure cookers are owned? Now compare the rates of each used in mass killings.

The courts ruled that the mentally ill could take their meds anywhere and could not be forced to do it in a controlled environment. Of course once free, they quit taking their meds. One example, a former mental patient ran around town nude looking in windows. He could not be charged because he was mentally ill, but he could also not be forced to take the meds that kept him from doing it before he was released. The police could only take him back to the group home each time.

Of course not. The driver never saw him before. But there were several people in this punk's life that did know.

Patient rights was one of the issues - that many would fare better in the community than in an institution.

The money saved from closing the hospitals was *supposed* to be directed towards providing clinics, and support in the community. THAT did not happen - or when it did the program budgets were later cut.

So instead we have hoards of homeless (some of whom are mentally ill) on the streets and shooters in our classrooms.

Actually, I'm leaning more towards we all get to ignore laws we don't want to obey like illegal aliens are allowed to do.

Doesn't matter if it was in a bag or not, the gun was legal in Florida, that's the law and it's there to protect your 2A rights. You can't have it both ways, you advocate for unlimited 2A rights and Florida pretty much gives them to their residents, that's what you all wanted and that's what you got.
