When something is obviously wrong, why SHOULDN'T we change it?

If we didn't change America, white people would still own slaves, kids would be toiling in factories, and women wouldn't even be allowed to vote.

Your thinking is a DISGRACE to America and the legacy of change that has made this nation better for its people.

Not specific to the gun situation but I'll note in general that the founders were far-sighted enough to allow for the changing of America through the process of amendment.

The NRA is nothing but a pimp for the prostituting gun manufacturing and sales profiteers. It's not about freedom or the 2nd Amendment. It's all about the bottom line____PROFIT!

The NRA has done absolutely nothing to ensure the happiness of our youth and it will not!

The very same can be expected from the GOP and its leader, the current POTUS....
Yes,yes, life in the U.S. is now ruined solely due to guns and the GOP AND the sky is falling as well because of profiteers...

Another irrational to be ignored...

Let's see... Your "common sense" consists of:

1. I don't care how many are dying, lets do nothing.

2. If we have to do something, let's increase the volume of guns.

If that's what it is, then how am I supposed to find common ground with you?

No but some think the solution is to ban smartphones.

There are hundreds of millions of guns in the US. No new laws are going to make guns inaccessible to criminals or the mentally ill. There are just too many guns out there already.

If we as a society decide that the kids in our schools are as important as the adults in our courthouses, federal buildings, airports and other assorted venues, then we can secure our schools in the same manner. Entrances with metal detectors and armed guards. It is bizarre that so many take pride in our schools being unprotected target rich environments. It takes more than a "no guns allowed" sign on the door to protect the kids.

If we as a society want to get the mentally ill and potentially dangerous off the streets, then it is time to open up the facilities where they used to be locked away. Any community can tell you which of the local crazies are harmless and which ones are scary. Let the experts carefully look at the scary ones and take action as warranted. Waiting until they shoot up a school is not an effective strategy.

A massive and very open country.....someone wants a firearm, they are going to get one.

Millions of tons of cargo come into the USA each and every year, some of it is illegal, including firearms.
