School boards were forced to adopt those policies by the Obama Department of Education through the threat of withholding R3T and ESSA funds as well as not so veiled threats from the DOJ that if they didn't civil rights investigations might be pursued.
The FBI was informed in September about Cruz’s claim “I’m going to be a professional school shooter”. The next morning two FBI agents visited the gentleman who reported the post so that cannot be blamed on call center employees.
As with everything related to this shooting, there is an abundance of conflicting and fake information out there.
I will wait for the official FBI report.
BTW, it’s not a crime to post a threat on the Internet, unless intent to act on the threat can be proven.
so the fbi, local police department, school security, resource officer, and mental health professionals failed but the reason according to the left for this tragedy is the nra's fault???
these horrible mass murders resulted from a mountain of multiple government and local authority failures. shocking how badly these murdered kids were failed again and again.

The level of competency is going to vary among the public and law enforcement. Just because they have a badge does not meant you put them on a pedestal. The marksmanship of Joe Schmoe who enjoys target practicing every weekend is going to be superior to that of the law enforcement officer who does just enough to qualify.
There are reasonable numbers from NYC that indicate a cop with a hand gun has little hope in a fire fight. They hit less than 20% over all and at at anything over 10 yards less than that. So all the SRO could do would be charge into an AR15 being used by a guy who knew how to shoot. It is called suicide.
It's amazing how many people seem to be saying the SRO was outgunned, brought a knife to a gun fight, was waiting for back-up while others in the thread are saying we should arm teachers with handguns to do what this deputy DID. NOT. DO.
And no one is answering the question of how to pay for all the guns and training and insurance and "bonuses" to quote a high ranking official in Washington
Why is it amazing?
We know for a fact that two teachers gave up their lives trying to defend/protect their students. And, that is not surprising to me in the least. Its the normal instinct of people in leadership positions.

It's the NRA's fault for fighting every reasonable restriction ever suggested to deal with weapons that serve no purpose other than to kill large numbers of people very, very quickly.
