So we're all supposed to live in gated an guarded communities now. All because the NRA caused a colossal increase in the proliferation of guns and the subsequent facilitation of their sales. Sure the NRA along with the GOP have together created the new American gun culture. A culture where fear has been firmly instilled into both the hearts and minds of our children.
---------------

Sure we had access to firearms many years ago, but most normal folks just wanted a decent humting rifle like a 30/30, a 30'06, or a pump shotgun. Many hunters felt that semis gave the hunter an unfair advantage. Hunting with an AR-15 is an absolutely ludicrous idea!
What does hunting have to do with the 2A?
and today fewer households have guns than any time in the past 40 years or longer
An AR15 takes .223 caliber which is ok for hunting.
I have no problem with limiting high capacity magazines to say 10 rounds.
That wont stop the mass shooting though since we have to figure out a better way to deal with the mentally ill that are walking around society nowadays. How do you prevent them from accessing firearms? In the 1950s they were hospitalized. Today they are given a pill and sent on their way. Mind you the family unit is also different today.

Worst school shooting was Virginia tech where 32 people were killed. The shooter used 2 9mm handguns.

IMO

All that's needed are certified LE officers to serve as both entry and exit guards assisted by metal detectors. That along with electronic landscape surveillance of the perimeter should be sufficient.

No armed teachers!

Not every school or community has the resources for metal detectors and LE officers in every school. Those that can't should properly train one or two administrators or teachers to be armed or at least have quick access to a firearm incase of an emergency. When Adam Lanza shot out the doors of Sandy Hook, he was immediately met by the Principal who was shot dead. If that Principal was armed 25 little kids might still be alive today.

Rubio accepted $3M from the NRA, no one believes that he is actually looking into anything resembling a solution. He is just interested in getting reelected and Florida is owned by the NRA, some of the most ridiculous gun laws in the country. But now he expects us to believe that he just woke up to the problem because of the murders in his state.

It's the NRA that has promoted the proliferation, wide-scale distribution, and sales of assault-styled militaristic firearms. The NRA managed to facilitate easy access to these dangerous weapons and their complementary accessories with the assistance of the GOP congressmen they paid for their most gratuitous legislative influence.

Since GOP led congress has done much to create this problem, it should be incumbent upon the federal government to finance all necessary equipment and personnel to provide adequate security to all our educational institutions.

BTW

Real sportsmen don't "hunt" with assault-styled rifles!

It sorta takes the "sport" out of the hunt....

The answer to this NRA created gun-culture is NOT more guns. That's exactly what the NRA gun lobby wants!

Let's stop playing into their hands for once, please!
Ooooh that evil NRA... You do realize how insane it is to pick out one organization for what is clearly a case of societal illness right?
I never knew the NRA trained people to not care about human life or to grab guns and kill people. In fact, if one wanted to point fingers at organizations that do teach people to care less about others lives and have no emotions about killing one could make that argument against the military. It's not like the Marines teach their soldiers to practice love and compassion towards others and it's not like soldiers just forget when they get out.

Just keep up your yapping/ranting about the evilness of the NRA and be marginalized along with all the other loons...

The key is, as shown by the Florida debacle to fully implement and enforce laws and regulations already on the books and go from there.
Tighten 'em up and make those responsible for enforcing them liable if they don't. If after a set amount of time goes by and that's not enough then look at going further.
It does no good to add new laws that nobody will follow just like they're doing now right?

Can you show any examples of what you claim or are you just playing along with the echo chamber? I'd love to see actual examples, not rhetoric but actual examples of what you're claiming...

Isn't it "Alex", or is there another conspiracy nut out there, maybe his brother "Alek"?

Actually your perspective comes from the margins
Most Americans support tougher background checks and limiting certain weaponry

In a democracy the majority can impose laws the minority might oppose
Tough luck
That --due to the Electoral College's role as an "equalizer" between large/small population states-- is how ALL Americans would up w/ Trump as POTUS
Not my choice
Not choice of majority of votes
And so far no revolution

So when --not if--gun laws change be prepared for democracy in action
