Those "reaearchers" are clearly liberals--who apparently feel the need to pat themselves on the back.
First, though, let's get back to science. Any "study," supposedly observing groups of people and extrapolating, which uses the words "always" and "never," is BUNK.

How about we start with reading comprehension?
The person who used the word "never" is a fake news entrepreneur who tried to generate fake news to lure liberals and nothing he tried worked. Hence, he said, "It never worked" on liberals. He is not a science guy, he is someone who makes money off of selling fake news. Thus, he only caters to conservatives now because they are the only group who "buys" his product.
Aw look...another Trump voters are dumb thread. You morons on the left really think this will help you come 2018?
Actually, if you had read the article - the studies found it's not because conservatives are dumb, it's because they are much more sensitive to imaginary danger and possesses less critical thinking skill than liberals. Those two traits combined to make them more vulnerable to fake news.
Following the right-wing ideology bears this out, these are the "issues" they are screaming about:
1. Illegal immigrants are here to take away your jobs!!!
2. Muslim immigrants are here to rape the women!!
3. You must be armed because the criminals are coming into your house to kill you!!
4. Obama is hatching secret Muslim plan to take over!!
5. Hillary has a kill list!!!
Fears that are very imaginary and borderline baseless.
[quote=beb0p;51026764]This is just stating the obvious, but it's an interesting read nonetheless.
Quote from OP:
Why Fake News Targeted Trump Supporters -
Multiple studies suggest social conservatives are more attuned to threats—even when they are not real.
As one such fake-news entrepreneur, responsible for articles with headlines like, “FBI Agent Suspected in Hillary Email Leaks Found Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide,” told NPR: "We’ve tried to do [fake news with] liberals. It just has never worked, it never takes off. You'll get debunked within the first two comments and then the whole thing just kind of fizzles out."
Researchers have found that liberals tend to have a greater “need for cognition,” or an interest in thinking critically. Some studies have found correlations between support for Republican candidates and endorsement of nonsense statements like, "attention and intention are the mechanics of manifestation.”
A pointless bit of research. Obviously, these people were fools before any of this began. Otherwise, they wouldn't have become Trump supporters. The conclusions the researchers reached, were as easy as shooting fish in a barrel.
I believed she could win. But even if I believe she would win, that doesn't make it fake news. Fakes news are things that happened in the past. Like believing that Obama was born in Kenya, it happened in the past and it is fake, hence fake news. Believing something may happen in the future is not fake news, it's just anticipation.
The fact that I have to explain it to you is really telling.
You are basically reinforcing the right-winger's stereotype with your post. Wow, so many right-wingers are confirming the studies with real life examples that I can excuse a newcomer to this forum for thinking I made up those posts with fake accounts.

Yes, obviously.
But the studies explain WHY.
