fine and dandy, now write the law as you see it, and lets see if ti passes constitutional muster. if it does, great, if not, try again.

Americans blame, and quite rightly in most of these shootings, the mentally ill. Last year the republican controlled house voted 235 to 180 to abolish the rule that anyone diagnosed with a mental illness should be subject to a background check when trying to buy a gun.

The Republicans argued that the rule stigmatises people suffering from mental heath issues. So the next time a nutcase massacres children at your local school, you will know who to blame.

Do you think that a paranoid schizophrenic should be able to legally own a gun?

They were removing a restriction based on you being a list, rather than if you had been convicted in a court, and had your rights removed.

The republicans the silly lot would like a little thing called due process before removing some ones rights; I know silly them.

If this information is correct, a 19 year old can not buy a AR-15 in the first place, that is restricted to 21 and above.

So to that where did this 19 year old get the rifle? It means that either lax parents or this 19 year old got the rifle from some other illegal means.

These actions are never justified and the person who did the shooting in totally in the wrong, but lets at least be host in how the got ahold of the rifle in the first place.

Just make your own.
You don't have to buy one already put together.

When I was 9 I bought my first rifle mail order through Sears and Robuck. Delivered to my door by the mailman with a box of cartridges.
The Constitution has not changed since I was 9, but now you got to be 21????
That's stupid!

Sorry, liberals. Despite all your efforts at brainwashing, it looks like another one has gotten away.

When you make ASSumptions based on you own personal bias you're likely to be surprised when you learn reality differs greatly from your imaginary world.

Until the same people illegally bringing drugs into this country discovered a new revenue stream selling smuggled firearms.

His parents are dead. Not sure how he got his gun, but I hope we find out and if criminal charges need to be filed against someone that they are actually filed.

Let's see...

Gun free zone (check)

Nothing preventing the shooter from entering the facility (check)

Nowhere for the victims to escape to (check)

Anyone with the fire power to stop the shooter is at least ten minutes away (check)

And there you have the perfect place to stage a mass killing of defenseless individuals.

Next time, make sure some of the teachers are packing.

Just like shooting fish in a barrel.... But yet we keep making more barrels (gun free zones) for these loons to carry out their fantasies.

Are you sure about that? The age to buy a handgun is 21, but isn't it 18 to buy a long gun, regardless of whether it's a rifle or shotgun?
