Quote:
President Donald Trump endorsed the idea of a 25 cent-per-gallon gas tax increase at a meeting Wednesday with lawmakers, people who attended the session said — a move that could help pay for his big infrastructure plan but brought swift attacks from anti-tax conservatives.
"Hey JoeQ public- I'll give you a tax break for a while! ( okay let's slip some tax increases in here to pay for $hit, they'll never know... )

Way to go you Conservative guy you!

It don’t matter if Trump proposed a dollar a gallon increase, his supporters will shriek with joy about paying more at the pump. Meanwhile Trump will continue to gut programs that help the poorest Americans while giving huge tax breaks to billionaires, and his poor white trash supporters will say “Thank you Mr President for all you have done for billionaires!”

You figure them out, I can’t.

Leftists should be all giddy over this. They do this in every state that they run saying it will go to infrastructure and it never does.

I totally support this. Road construction and repair should be paid for entirely from gas and vehicle registration taxes. It should not be funded from the general budget.

Thnak you, President Trump!

You don't like roads? If $0.25 is needed to have better roads, why are you complaining? Unless you don't like roads... bridges, highways, public transport, etc etc... you can walk and not pay it...

The gas tax hasn't been increased for 25 years. It's purpose was to fund highway expansion and maintenance. It should reflect the costs of doing that.

Bike paths, trains, planes should have their own user taxes not use the gas tax.

I'm not a Trump fan, but I'm ok with an increase in the gas tax to pay for infrastructure.

I think Lyndon Johnson figured it out 50 years ago:

Fully support this. Whoever uses the roads should pay for the roads.

Make it $1 please.
