Because guns are cheap?

I can get an AR-15 for less than three months insurance (Colt, two months for a bushmaster).

apparently you dont read all the lines in the amendment, or you figure that "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" doesnt mean anything, even though the scotus has ruled that it is an individual right.

Wow... So, apparently it's "cite random statistics and blame liberals for it" week on City Data.

I can't even begin to imagine what the OP is trying to get at here... that everyone should be provided a government issued firearm? That Republicans like it if only the rich can afford a gun, but liberals shouldn't?

Heck, if guns are such a sacred "right" as being an American, why isn't the far-right - who loves guns - upset about this? The left has never made guns a key part of their platform; this is a problem for the right to address since they love guns so much.

You literally just made the op's point, as wiley as it may have been.

Having an actual constitutional written representation of fundamental rights, including the right to arms, the political "right" doesn't push for government to provide that right.
Meanwhile the political "left" pushes for the government to provide something that they only espouse as a right through opinion.

It's not my style of discussion, but it seems simple enough to understand.

Sorry, but the OP's point still makes no sense. The 2nd Amendment, even with the individual ownership interpretation, just says the government can't create laws that stop "the people" in general from "owning arms," which is also a general concept. There's nothing in there about the government being required to give everyone a gun.

If this is some silly attempt to compare health-care to guns, that's cute, but the reality is that health-care for all benefits a nation, while guns for all accomplishes next to nothing.

Agreed and that was the point being made. An actual recognized right does not include taxes providing it, why should something not recognized as a right be?

Yes, and that is your opinion on the matter, none the less the point is simple to understand.
