LOL!!!
Several years ago, I won a Winchester 1300, pump 12 gauge shotgun at my gun club raffle. No, they did not hand it to me. They had an arrangement with a local gun shop/FFL holder where I had to go, pass a background check, fill out the forms, and take my gun. I could have also taken the cash equivalent, but wanted a good, hunting shotgun anyway.

Unlike an AR-15, shotguns are used for hunting animals, not people.

Oh really?

Many people hunt with AR platforms. And AK platforms as well...
I do. My girlfriend does. One of my exs had an AR for deer hunting. Chambered in 308.

According to your article, the winner didn't have the proper identification to get the gun, so the gun shop didn't give it to him. His uncle registered the gun for himself, so the uncle made an illegal straw purchase and gave it to his nephew. Gun store followed the law. This story doesn't support your argument.

I'm not a gun person, so I find the idea of gun raffles odd, but I know they are common in some places. But the story is acting like they are raffling the gun in response to the FL shooting, and that's not true.

Questioning gun raffles is legitimate, but the author should be honest.

Maybe hunting is not the sport for them. I hope they never try a skill sport like golf or downhill skiing.

Where is the issue? People have the option to purchase the raffle tickets or not to purchase them.

Why do you say that?

Alot of Hunters use the AR and AK platform for hunting.
Why are they not suitable for hunting? Serious question. What makes you believe these are not suitable hunting rifles? Is it their appearance?

No one has ever been killed with a shotgun?

AR-15's are one of the most popular (animal) hunting rifles in the United States.

Even the liberal/progressive Time magazine acknowledges that.

But many gun owners say they use semiautomatic rifles to hunt regularly.
In interviews with TIME, leaders of 15 state shooting groups said semiautomatic rifles are popular with hunters in their states. Hunters say they favor the gun for its versatility, accuracy and customizable features for shooting animals.

So your incorrect statements continue to reinforce your ignorance, and religious zealot like hatred of legal firearms.
