They don't want Mueller clearing Trump before the 2018 midterms.

If you would read the article, you would know why recommends it. He didn't warn him like the title suggests.

It would be best not to have investigations that could taint the elections.

Unfortunately that looks unlikely, there could still be Mueller's investigation, and we could very well see investigations into the how the Russian investigation started, and was handled.

Things could be quite messy.

Read what you posted. It gives a quote from Casey that explains his reasoning:

"I don't think we'll know anywhere near the full story until [Mueller] issues his report," Casey said. "But once you get into the summer, and you get close to the election, I think it's a mistake for him to release it late. I think you should wait until after [the election]" Casey said. "

No matter. Mueller is working on his own timetable. He'll move when the spirit move him.

I disagree with his reasoning. This was the approach Obama took: not to release the information prior to the election for fear of the appearance of "putting his finger on the scale." That worked out well.

Lol, come on. You know what he is afraid of. Of how bad the blowback will be on the Dems when nothing happens to Trump
