How it was up till the 1960s. I already said that.
It's ironic how many men want to return to the time before the 1960s when those men weren't even alive then. Their concepts of life during that period are based almost entirely on old television shows, advertisements, movies, etc., few of which reflected actual middle-class lifestyles or behaviors. Those of us who were born 1950 and before know better. Life wasn't all pearls and wearing high heels while vacuuming the house, or playing bridge and having tea parties with the neighbor ladies.

OP isn't even married, and doesn't have kids.
People would probably think he was gay if he were alive back then at his age.

OK but even those too young to remember have relatives and acquaintances that were adults before 1960 to give an eye witness account and say it was better.
I never said it was perfect. I said it was fairer, more equal and meritorious than the government and politically mangled affair we have today. Progressives today are still telling us their ideas are making the present better and will make a better future. Not.
It started off as women wanting more fulfillment than being a home maker, not primarily as a economics issue.
They still have women dancing and singing as they clean the toilet LOL. Housework is not fulfilling. I'm a started and own a successful business and to think if I had been an adult in those days I would have been relegated to housework.
If either decided to leave their partner and kids, they should at least be responsible enough to provide for them.
If they are old enough to multiply, they should be old enough to add.
What about all those baby mama's and baby dads (who sire children with multiple women). Some parents don't even bother marry in the first place, why should they if government (Welfare) is going to be the breadwinner.
btw, I never felt like I had to be married to be complete.
I don't know why anyone should expect fighting against the natural order and even mother nature in general would lead to more happiness.
We need another minority group... "Women that were not born with the Molly Maid and Betty Crocker gene".
It's insulting that you think that because I was born a woman that I automatically enjoy cooking and cleaning. I don't think many women do and if she is expected to do it all of course she's going to be unhappy.
Men and women have different minds and abilities, women have differences in socialization and complain about non-PC speech, sexual harassment, and discrimination more and tend to be female-centric, and women can get pregnant and need to take leave or prone to quit.
You want me to explain why women should have their cake and eat it too, and men should fight over the leftover scraps and you're calling my sentiments cheap sexism.
I'm seconding the cheap sexism comment. Wow! Men with your attitude is one of the very reasons women wanted to work outside the home. I can't imagine being stuck with someone with the old school mentality.
I wonder how different women would think living in an alternate 50s/60s where women have control, own business and corporate and politics and men stay home and cook, clean, do all of the child caring etc.

My in-laws do just that. It was a choice they both made and they seem happy. Of course she's not a controller or abusive and it works for them.
