It seems like most people are more outraged about the long shot possibility of some kind of gun control than they are about the lives of the children lost in the tragedy. It says a lot about where we are as a country. I think children's lives are more important than somebody's hobby. Of course gun control is debatable but if it isn't the answer, what is?

A good place to start in my opinion would be more accessible mental health services yet most people want to cut funding for that as well.

The American mentality is what it is: “I got mine (and a gun), f**k you.”

Abolishing any portion of the Constitution should create an outrage by all Americans.

Also the same people who want to cut mental health services funding and public school extracurriculars (which have been proven to help kids find purpose and develop social skills and community values) are all for spending money hiring armed police guards and extensive security screening infrastructure.

In other words, spending money only if it'll make the schools more like prisons.

Anybody think people's priorities are messed up?

I thought that was made very evident when we saw more public outrage over a naked breast at the SuperBowl than over a bloody, costly war of choice of no benefit to the country.

In all seriousness, was that really necessary, I mean really. Nobody is coming to take your gun away, and we wonder what is really wrong with this country.

I was being facetious.

Sorry, I should have put the latter part in quotations.

Should that also have applied to the 18th Amendment?

Another example of the same kind of mentality. War, violence, massacre of children seems to not phase people these days yet an exposed breast or a gay kiss will send people into a frenzy.
