Congress is hell bent on disarming us, if not all once they'll try to do it incrementally by banning certain types it deems inappropriate for "we the people". Meanwhile it spends billions of our dollars on weaponry for its own defense.
Anyone who spouts such nonsense as "they aren't coming for your guns" is not to be believed and with some 20,000 gun laws on the books says they are either liars or ignorant.
They don't do it because strict gun control is a losing issue politically in the United State. Politicians are politicians no matter which party they belong to. As close as elections have become and as divided as we are no politician is going to **** off such a solid block of voters. Period.
Right now, the support for stricter gun control is 70%.
You think Trump would be pushing for more gun control if no one wanted it?
Let me repeat since it didn't penetrate the first time: The people who panic and rush in to buy more guns at times like this are OBVIOUSLY the terrified ones.
Of course the alt-right wants everyone to just shut up after school shootings, but it is clearly not going to happen. If Dems want another ban, they will being it up at times like these.
The part you have wrong is where you say "more" guns. Judging by new applications for C.C. permits and background checks it is people who were not already gun owners.
If gun sales continue to increase with the introduction of these weapons banning bills......... you know those people buying them will not turn them in...........

.....
The word I heard after Sandy Hook was that people were buying because they were afraid they might actually have to use them against their government.
That's terrifying that a population is made to feel like that.
A far reaching bill like this one, that says if it has even one of these items....certainly doesn't help.
I'm not surprised that the -10 is on it despite that the -10 as it is has never been a military weapon, hasn't been used in these shootings, and is a quite expensive thing to try to buy.
It doesn't meet the reasons that people usually claim but like the Chicago saying,
"As long as you're in the kitchen, I think I'll get a sandwich." (The Loo Sanction)

The problem is the difference between the gun control the majority are comfortable with and what gets proposed. I am a huge gun rights advocate and I want some things done. But what I want done is not close to what a lot of people think should be done.

Nice job Einstein. Yes, new applicants are new. What has that got to do with the actual sales?
The far right wing fantasy of killing a bunch of people with their stockpiles of guns and ammo starkly indicates underlying paranoia and mental illness. Constantly preparing for some race or anti-government war.

No, they wont because they won't be required to. The bill in question does not require anyone to turn anything in. New sales only.

Yeah paranoia...As people like yourself try to strong arm away their right to use a tool for self defense
