Nope. Didn't really cut a whole lot.
Instead, let's just issue out a **** load of bonds for that tax cut.
Feel free to pay more in taxes to make up the shortfall.

Return the extra money or you are a hypocrite after that whine.

He's also put tariffs on washing machines and dryers from Korea. Industry experts are predicting all washers and dryers will rise 20% in price.

Meanwhile with the solar panels:

Quote:
While the tariffs were welcomed by the companies that sought them, economists warned the levies could drive up prices for consumers and hurt some American businesses. The solar industry has been split over the tariffs; companies that develop large-scale solar farms, as well as purchasers of solar power such as retailers and tech companies, opposed the tariffs over concerns that they would cost them more money and make solar power less competitive with other energy sources, at least in the short term.

Abigail Ross Hopper, the president of the Solar Energy Industries Association, which opposed the measures, said the decision “will create a crisis in a part of our economy that has been thriving, which will ultimately cost tens of thousands of hard-working, blue-collar Americans their jobs.”

Oh stop, if Pres. Obama caused prices to go up by making you buy American you would be shrieking “socialism!” and “Free Market!”

You folks are sadly predictable. Trumps tariffs are hurting the solar industry, just like they were designed to. Shocker the OP got it completely wrong.

In the mind of a Trump voter, yes. To those who are better educated (i.e., non Trump voters) we know the real reason for this move is to hurt the industry by raising prices.

Remember, “clean, beautiful coal”.....

Fast forward to now:

"Over the last year or so we’ve reported on Harley-Davidson’s less-than-stellar sales and growth, though prior coverage doesn’t feel as heavy as the reports that came out this past week in which Harley-Davidson has officially stated that it will be following-through on its intentions to shutdown its current Kansas City plant, despite local US Senators and Congressman urging the marque not to."

https://www.yahoo.com/news/harley-da...133345429.html

"Harley-Davidson, as we have assiduously documented, is in trouble. Primarily because their customer base is old and getting older. Now, thanks to the Trump administration, it’s being threatened by a new potential menace that I didn’t see coming—tariffs on its products in Europe, as a trade war between the U.S. and the rest of the world heats up."

As for the OP, ramping up U.S. production is all well and good but it absolutely doesn't guarantee that people will buy those products if prices are too high.

Further, there is no way that those plants will employ enough people to counteract the current projected job losses.

"McDonough said the companies in the trade case account for a small fraction of the 38,000 solar manufacturing jobs in the U.S., and that whatever gains are made there as a result of the tariff will not offset damage to the rest of the industry.

“It represented a very, very small portion of the industry calling for these tariffs and that’s going to result in many, many more jobs lost than solar panel manufacturing could generate,” he said. “Vastly more.”"

I agree with all of it.

Solar was easy as its hobbling suits Trump's base just fine.

My tax refund went unchanged this year and I donated most of it, as I usually do.

So... Since you don't have anything valid you chose a personal attack?

That's bad... Really bad.

Meaning, yet again, you have no idea what you're talking about...
