Trump supporters and extreme right 'share widest range of junk news'

Quote:

They find that on Twitter, a network of Trump supporters shares the widest range of junk news and circulates more junk news than all other political audience groups combined. On Facebook, extreme hard right pages – distinct from Republican pages – both share the widest range and circulate the largest volume of junk news compared with all the other audiences. Specifically, a group of 'hard conservatives' circulates the widest range of junk news and accounts for the majority of junk news traffic in the sample. On average, the audiences for junk news on Twitter share a wider range of known junk news sources than audiences on Facebook's public pages.

Junk news sources are defined as deliberately publishing misleading, deceptive or incorrect information purporting to be real news about politics, economics or culture. This type of content can include various forms of extremist, sensationalist and conspiratorial material, as well as masked commentary and fake news.

No surprise there. But this is the first of a serious study that confirms what many of us already know - right wingers love fake news.

An article that made something up doesn't have credibility. What matters is policy. Progressives share more failed policies than all the other groups combined. But that just confirms what many of us already knew -nanny staters love government to run their lives.

You lost Get over it.

Exhibit A of fake news expounded by a right-winger.

What a load of democrat / liberal propaganda! If you want to see fake news then tune into CNN and MSNBC at any time. Constant one-sided, cherry picked, liberal propaganda.

And this is a University study? Why am I not surprised! Liberal professors outnumber conservative professors by a ratio of 11 1/2 to 1. https://www.washingtontimes.com/news...rvatives-12-1/

This study is about as useless as those phony "97% of all scientists believe that global warming is man made" studies.

Is that why the leftist propaganda networks keep winning all the fake news awards?

LOL.

I don't know if I should chuckle or shake my head when someone doesn't even know that Oxford University is not a US school.

Let me guess, you're one of those movie goers who get really confused when James Bond draped himself in a British flag?? And no, there is no Democratic Party in the UK. There is a Liberal Democrats party, but the party is very different from what we associate with Democrats or liberals.

And according to Breitbart and a study done at Bob Jones University, the opposite is true. Of course Leftists think their opposition is wrong, what's new?
