I hope our friends from across the pond don't stumble into this thread. They may go off.

Trump compared to Churchill?

Let's start and end with the fact that Winston Churchill nobly served his country in the military during wartime. No bone spurs there.

Churchill's insults even put Trump's to shame. Trump is far closer to Neville Chamberlain than he ever will be to Churchill.

That's because Churchill's insults were actually clever. Trump wouldn't know clever if he tripped over it.

Now, if the writer of that article could deliberately lie about this incident to try to smear Obama while polishing his hero Trump, just how accurate am I supposed to believe the rest of what he wrote might be??

Sorry, my standards are higher and my time is limited.
Right, he removed it.

The comparison to Churchill goes back to the primaries & is an apt one. Trump, like Churchill is crude, vulgar, blunt, but wildly popular due to the fact that he doesn't come off an an arrogant intellectual or smarmy lawyer. They both had to fight the opposition party, as well as their own party. Now that Trump's enacting such American-first policies, his critics are starting to come around & he, like Churchill will be remembered fondly by history.

This is the most thoughtfully accurate post of this whole thread so far. Thank you for providing something more than the adolescent smack talk that the TDS posters have mostly provided.

Dare to dream.

History will remember Trump all right, but it won't be fondly.
