Disorienting the shooter should be the first concern, so IMO we should use an old remedy. Maximum Fire Hose style pressure options, instantaneously, on sprinkler systems.

Yes some kids will fall and get hurt, but in all likelihood, with enough pressure, the shooter will fall also, and be unable to maintain a firm grip on his weapon.

All it would take is several strategically placed devices in principles office, plus at corners of school with long-tenured staff, latter preferably bio-metric turn on so only the teachers fingers can trigger the device.

Think of (unfortunately awful use here) Bull Connors.

That psi factor.

Or we could treat the cause and focus on the increasing number of children being raised in a single parent family.

Agreed But it's overwhelmingly committed by kids with only 1 parent.

Well Bob, since chemical weapons are legal to use on American soil, do one better.
Sleeping gas in the sprinkler system. Everyone takes a nap... cops roll in place the bracelets on... just need an anesthesiologist to mix it up so nobody dies...

Water alone can be a major force, not lethal, but capable of stopping events.

It would simply be a matter of having a stronger psi capability.

Rather have wet kids then dead kids.

Yea...that's now how anesthesia works. There's no one mixture-sleeps-all. Anesthesia isn't a set it and forget it, the anesthesiologist sits there during the whole operation watching all sorts of data just to keep the patient alive. No way to do that for multiple people at once with all kinds of physiological differences.

This shooter was in a single parent home. Not by any choice of the mother, but because the father died. How are you proposing to fix that?

Yet while we have hundreds of pages of threads about gun control and the NRA...crickets on that. IMO, it isn't JUST one parent families. It includes the fact that those families are primarily headed by females, leaving the male children no positive male role models to learn from. Boys never learn to become young men. Instead they are exposed to rampant emotionalism rather than reason and control to deal with issues.

At the same time-we have "parents" more concerned with being friends to their kids than to be parents. Children get zero discipline and once again, never learn how responsible adults act. They are taught that if they throw a temper tantrum long enough they will get their way. They are taught that they don't have to have any respect or consideration for others. We certainly have enough examples on today's college campuses.

Both of those lead to children, especially boys, with control problems in school. Instead of dealing with that, of instilling discipline and control, today's parents and school administrators just drug the kid to control them, rather than again, parenting or disciplining them. And once again-these children never learn to grow up, to learn self control, to become young men and women, rather than 18 year old toddlers.

Actually, his mother died too so he was living with a family who took him in.
