In the past, the Pilgrims gave up a lot to get here. The Founders pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor. Loads of abolitionists and union fighters risked and even gave their lives to fight slavery. Loads marched in the civil rights movement against segregation, the KKK, and Jim Crow, and many died or suffered. Now, when I suggest standing up to groups like the NFL or Apple for their attacks on religious freedom, free speech, the 2nd amendment, etc people cling to their iPhones and football muttering "My precious! My precious!" like Gollum. That is part of the reason America is in such a mess.
