Maybe if Nicolas Cruz trusted in God instead of guns, we wouldn’t have had to bury 17 kids.

The people were not just blaspheming God, they were engaging in evil religious practices, like incest and child sacrifice. Do you not think that people who rape and kill children in the name of God should be punished? I bet God does.

Yep. "Thoughts and prayers" is their answer to school shootings so it all makes sense in their warped minds.

Not relevant to the discussion. The point is why are you upset over something that's been our national motto since pretty much the founding of our country?

E pluribus unum?

I assume you don't mean "In God We Trust", which was made the motto during the communist scare in the 1950s, around the same time "Under God" was added to the pledge.

If the Florida House of Representatives has its way, all public schools in the Sunshine State will soon be required to post the words “In God We Trust” — the state’s motto — on all campuses where students and staff can see them.
The House voted on the legislation Wednesday — 97 to 10, with members standing and applauding the results — after finding time to debate and approve a bill declaring pornography a “public health risk.”

Yet the House refused, 71 to 37, to take up a bill this week to ban assault weapons, which had been supported by student survivors of the Feb. 14 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, where a gunman killed 17 people. The students had gone to the state capital to push for gun control and were in the gallery when the gun legislation was raised. Some were dismayed by the legislators’ inaction.

Which god? There are @ 5,000 of them currently working the crowd right now. A lot of people do not, you know. If gods and prayers did anything, we wouldn't be talking about gun control.

So explain how Florida passing a state law banning some weapons is going to work?
It won't. We need a national law and a buyback.

It looks like conservatives believe in the Constitution the same way they do the Bible - pick out the parts they agree with, and discard the rest.

Please check your sarcasm meter. I think it may need a tune-up.

"In God We Trust" was put on American currency officially in 1956, although it did occasionally appear as far back as the Civil War.

This was the first coinage issued in the United States, the Continental Dollar. It bore the motto that we should be using still.
