Given the current events that is really arrogant.

Even if I believed that were I in his position, I wouldn't be saying it when I have at least one deputy proven to have neglected his duty but possibly 3-4 other ones.

Not to mention whatever they did/did not do with the over 20 calls to their dept re the shooter.

Crazy.

He really needs to resign and there needs to be an independent investigation regarding what went on in this Sheriffs Dept re this shooter.

Someone needs to tell the sheriff that simply uses the same words as trump does to describe himself won't cut it. He has to exhibit the same over-the-top braggadocio that trump displays. After all, if you are going to lie, you have to go big on it.

73 GOP lawmakers in Florida have signed a letter sent to the governor saying the sheriff should be removed. No democrats have signed on, as expected. If he takes any blame it makes it harder for them to blame guns and the NRA.

We now know 4 cops and a resource office, didn't go into the school while they didn't know what type of gun was used and all five officers failed kids and teachers!

Sheriff Israel runs a department of losers!

Default Broward’s Cowards

From National Review -

"It is impossible to imagine circumstances under which Broward County sheriff Scott Israel could attempt to perform his duties with the confidence of the public. He should resign immediately, and if, as he promises, he refuses to go quietly, then he should be shown the door by the people he professes to serve.

The numbers tell the story: 23 sheriff’s calls involving the Parkland shooter; 18 sheriff’s calls involving the shooter’s behavior directly (some of the others were principally about his brother); four sheriff’s deputies, armed and trained, cowering outside the high school while the killer within carried out his massacre; 17 dead"

Broward's cowards...oof!

This is who Broward County has "protecting" them.

Quote:
Two years ago, the Sun Sentinel reported that Israel was rewarding top political supporters by giving them and their family members cushy jobs doing public relations and community outreach for the Broward County Sheriff's Office. One such position, outreach manager, paid out a salary of $78,489. The person who got that job was the husband of Israel's campaign manager.

Asked about the allegations, Israel responded, "What have I done differently than Don Shula or Abraham Lincoln or Martin Luther King, Gandhi?"

He also said, "Lions don't care about the opinions of sheep." That's a paraphrase of a quote from the Game of Thrones character Tywin Lannister, a villainous public administrator known for promoting his family's interests ahead of the government's or the people's.

I think the Sheriff spent too much time studying Obama big ego and lying habits.

Actually it's just four cops in total. Three responders and one SRO.
