Broward Sheriff Scott Israel Should Resign.

There should be accountability and Broward Sheriff Scott Israel is a good place to start.

I agree. I wondered why he was so quick to attack his staff for not running into the school.

As a professional, he should have measured his public statements on this more carefully. It, of course, smacks of inability to make sure the right person is in the right job at the right place and therefore the sheriff's incompetence.

His defensive attitude makes me think, there is more to this story. And I'm not a conspiracy type of gal at all.

But something is odd here. He quickly fired the one depty & initially refuted the claims of other officers standing around by other policemen who showed up on the scene. Now he's saying he needs to review the evidence.

He definitely mishandled something.

Before we arm teachers -- can we make sure communities have the resources to have law enforcement that are property trained for the job?

Maybe the Governor should resign too, for failing to do anything after Pulse night club shooting. Parkland massacre could have been prevented if something had been done. Or maybe Trump should resign for canceling laws which made it harder for the crazies to get guns, and doing nothing after Las Vegas massacre.

I guess it might only be the tip of the iceberg and I agree with you, there's more than meet the eyes.
I spotted via this blog post that old article of the Sun-Sentinel from 2016 along with a tweet about one of his deputies.

Yes, maybe we will put him back in office in Nov, or maybe we won't. Time will tell. Or maybe the country commissioner will fire him, but Israel said he is not resigning.

Then the Governor of Florida should also resign because the governor in Florida has oversight of sheriff's administration.

Sheriff is a Democrat, just another political witch hunt by Republicans. If the Governor resigns at the same time as the Sheriff I’m good with it, otherwise his detractors can **** up a rope.
