I have the one of Sabine, "a History of Political Theory", and looks interesting. I have also thougt of Eagleton, Bobbio or Hobsbawm for a view from the historic side.

I mean, a general one. I'm also reading some authors here and there.

Most recommendations you receive here will be propaganda rags, sorry to say. You have already selected what looks like fine material. If you know the politics of the Roman Republic, you will see echoes of that in our day.

Economics and politics are always intertwined. It's not all about pride and glory, my team (or gang) against yours. It's generally about money. Everything else is a footnote.

It's really much easier than you may think, at it's core it is about human nature, which you should be intimately familiar with already.
