A Mark Levin caller brought this up. Right now, women who are 18 and are living on their own can buy a gun to protect themselves. If they raised the age to 21, wouldn't that make women more vulnerable to rapists, knowing that these young women would now be unarmed?

An 18 year old teen is going to brandish an AR-15 to prevent herself from being raped? Is that what the NRA is going with now?

A woman’s is going to buy an assault rifle for protection? That’s the only firearm that I’m aware of where raising the age requirement from 18 to 21 is being considered.

It's not inconceivable a woman under 21 would buy a long gun to defend her home. If the age is raised to 21 for the AR-15 it would most likely include all guns.

IF the NRA allowed us to keep statistics, we could measure the impact of this legislation.

Talked to a 2nd Amendment supporter -- believes the govt. shouldn't be the only ones allowed to own guns, etc....and he is all for raising the age.

I’ve read a lot of comments on social media that liberals believe women are too stupid to own guns regardless of age 😐

Lets see. A person can enlist in the US Army and fight and potentially die, or be maimed, at the age of 17(with parental consent), but cannot purchase a firearm until age 18, and now some want to delay their constitutional rights until age 21. And what of all of the other adults in that gap from 18 to 21 that are left defenseless, single women, married women, single men, men with families, women with families, all under 21. What choice would they have other than to become a criminal by obtaining a firearm - illegally - for self-defense, in order to exercise their 2A right, and the right to SELF DEFENSE.

Irrational people continue to try to throw others under the bus, over and over, and over again.

Massive fail on your part.

Liberals are the ones that think women should be running everything.

You are on conservative boards being hacked by Russians or something -- lol.
