The commie group THINK PROGRESS is putting pressure on these businesses with threats of boycotts for years now. The communists want to neuter Americans for an easier revolution and chip away at our Constitution. They already neutered the college snowflakes, got many to hate America and it's history. They work night and day to take over America. It has been happening for years and decades. People who don't see this are blind .
Pistols are exempt from the debate. It's the high-velocity rifles with high capacity mags that are the problem.
Semi-auto sporting rifles with fixed magazines that are easy to reload a round at a time are exempt, too. For good reason; no hunter who's serious about getting game ever goes out with a 30-round mag. Even varmit shooters don't want all that ammo if they are more serious about killing rock chucks than rocks.
.........
A hunter who is lost in the woods might disagree with you on that.
When you are cold, hungry, alone, and in fear..........that's a pretty poor time to have to reload a round at time.
THINK ABOUT THIS FOR A MOMENT, is there a reason why decades ago we decided to design survival rifles with exchangeable magazines?
No one ever plans to get lost in the woods but it has been known to happen and often, those hunters who only went out with a few rounds found themselves seriously hurting.
Age is a federally protected class, it's discriminatory of any company refusing sale of a legal product due to age, nationality, gender, religion, and de facto orientation.
Since its legal for 18 year olds to buy long guns and ammunition for long guns, it's only age discrimination that Fred Meyer (and others) are not only doing, but publicly announcing. They're in for a world of hurt first time they refuse an 18-21 year old with a brain.
The chamber of a 1911 and almost all other semi-auto pistols is not directly above the magazine well.
You would have to lock the slide back and go through the ejection port. It would be easier to disassemble the pistol to reload.
Which is fine for the idiots that would suggest such a thing as a "fixed, non detachable 10 round magazine".
I'm sure there'll soon be the retort "but, but, that's what I really meant, I want it to be useless". No, that's not it at all, it's total ignorance about a subject probably heard from some other ignorant fool shooting their mouth off in the echo chamber...
I'd say if one isn't educated enough in firearms and how they all work to suggest such a dumb thing as a "fixed 10 round magazine maybe they should instead just go back to telling people how to think?

The high-capacity mags are only good for shredding trees, targets, pumpkins, and people.
Not according to the echo chamber, they want ALL semi auto's banned unless they can get ALL guns banned.
Good move. I like Dick's sporting goods, and like shopping there. (hate shopping for most part anywhere)
Dicks and others like them are bit players in the firearms game. Given they make very little when it comes to anything firearm related It's all really just a publicity stunt that they hope will not backfire on them.
REI jumping in is no surprise either given that store is geared towards the upper middle class to wealthy yuppie, tree hugging, greenie, tofu crowd.
Now if Cabela's and Bass Pro were to get in the middle of this THAT would be news worthy.
