Do you really not know this stuff? Are you hanging at StormFront. In any case, I'm glad you are giving others a chance to learn it. This is BIG history and the Russians have it all on film. You see, when they pushed the Germans back they had hundreds of photogs with their army and they documented all of this. There are interviews from just a few years back with the locals who saw it happen.
"the Einsatzgruppen had the mission to protect the rear of the troops by killing the Jews, Romani, Communist functionaries, active Communists, uncooperative slavs, and all persons who would endanger the security." In practice, their victims were nearly all Jewish civilians (not a single Einsatzgruppe member was killed in action during these operations"
"Einsatzgruppen[a] (German: [ˈʔaɪnzatsˌɡʁʊpn̩], "task forces"[1] or "deployment groups")[2] were Schutzstaffel (SS) paramilitary death squads of Nazi Germany that were responsible for mass killings, primarily by shooting, during World War II (1939–45)"
Well, they apparently "had the resources" to kill a lot of people!
"Babi Yar (Ukrainian: Бабин Яр, Babyn Yar; Russian: Бабий Яр, Babiy Yar) is a ravine in the Ukrainian capital Kiev and a site of massacres carried out by German forces and by local Ukrainian collaborators during their campaign against the Soviet Union in World War II. The first and best documented of the massacres took place 29–30 September 1941, killing 33,771 Jews"
Two days - 33K plus. Pretty soon the numbers really add up.
Note - guess what the Nazis used as an excuse for these and other killings in that area (150,000+)?
Yep, you got it, it was because the Soviets (including Jews) had fought back and blew up some German HQ, etc.
I don't think Holocaust revisionists take issue with the fact that Germans rounded up Jews into camps and shot many of them. Many in the SS were brutal killers off their leashes. US soldiers over there in Vietnam and Iraq were doing the same damn thing. It's the whole "six million of them in gas chambers" thing where it starts to go off the rails a little (lot).
The German Army did not round up the Jews. Nor did it have the resources to do so. Every man was needed on both fronts. And the German high command did not want the Army to know about it.
The roundup was mostly handled by the civil police force and others in the local communities.
By the time the major industrial death sites were up & running, a well armed Jewish population could have saved a significant number of people from making into one. Germany was, by this time, in a very bad way.
The Gestapo was primarily responsible for rounding up based on inf supplied by local LE.
At peak, Jews represented less than 1% of the population. How exactly would have less than 1% of an armed population defended itself against the 99% of the armed population, including local Police, Gestapo and SS?
From the article you posted. Think!!! "...The Anti-Defamation League, however, has called the claim outlandish.
It is mind-bending to suggest that personal firearms in the hands of the small number of Germany’s Jews (about 214,000 remaining in Germany in 1938) could have stopped the totalitarian onslaught of Nazi Germany when the armies of Poland, France, Belgium and numerous other countries were overwhelmed by the Third Reich,” Jonathan Greenblatt, national director of the Anti-Defamation League wrote in a 2015 opinion piece for the Huffington Post..."
Yep, that claim of theirs is pure fantasy. It would be like people armed with pitchforks fighting people with tanks. The Nazis had very superior war machines to most of the countries you cited. All that the armed Jews could have done was hasten their demise, the Nazis wouldn't have had to gas them, they would have simply killed them in their homes.
When I hear some of these gun lovers say that they want to be armed in the event that some foreign power attacks us, they have been watching too many Rambo movies. The enemies of today don't drop soldiers in via parachute to fight us, they simply send a missile or two. Guns do nothing against a missile.
First thing a despot does is disarm the people so they cannot fight back.
For this reason, our founders wrote the second amendment not for hunting or home protection, but rather GOVERNMENT TYRANNY, as the last line of defense in a democracy. Few seem to get that. The second amendment is NOT obsolete.
For the reason of defense of liberty, we need regular people well armed, the danger associated thereof must be tolerated, regardless of the (sometimes tragic) effect on short-term safety. Ben Franklin & James Madison spoke eloquently of this matter.
Yeah -- you need to do some research on how it all happened. You just do.

Comparing street thugs to trained soldiers (the implication behind this thread's title)? Are you serious?
The implication being that the citizens should be better equipped than the government's soldiers, sailors, etc.
<Pounds my fist on the table> I want a 3 megaton thermonuclear bomb RIGHT NOW!!!
As for the general Holocaust topic, nizkor.org is a good primer. They've had years of experience tangling with Holocaust deniers, which have to be some of the most brainwashed miseducated people on the planet. They also have a great fallacy page that I frequent.

I still think it would have been worth it if the Jews and others could have killed some of the Nazis. Better that than being totally unable to retaliate.
