It's not really a matter of if but when. One thing that every civilization in history has in common is that they eventually fail. May not be in our lifetime, but anyone who wants to be ready for that scenario has every right to.
Exactly. I know if something happened . I would want a weapon to defend my family and I. All it really takes is an attack on the electrical grid or collapse of the government to have the ***T hit the fan . There was a small panic a few months back in Texas after the hurricane and people went nuts. We couldn't even find gas. It was sold out everywhere.
Millions of gun owners are not the problem. Keep your guns and hunker down for the pending invasion or government breakdown or zombie apocalypse. (Good luck from the nuclear attacks though from Russia or North Korea though.)
We want to keep the guns out of the hands of the "one killer" though. Or people like him.
What would have kept guns out of the hands of Richard Paddock/ Las Vegas who had 47, including 33 he legally bought within the 12 months preceeding the big day. He brought 23 of them to his hotel room.
What might have been the outcome if the concert was not a gun-free zone? No way any could have stopped Paddock shooting from the 31st floor, across the street.

too bad the hotel and the concert venue didn't have adequate security.there is much to accomplish in that regard without impinging on anyones natural right to defend themselves. I think insurance co's working with their customers could sort it out.
Because you need an AK47, AR15, or something similar to be free, right?
Is this because the local robbers are immune to revolver rounds and the deer are immune to buckshot? Or, is it - as is so often the case - the supposed need for weapons of war to "kill duh gubermint?"
.
You keep mentioning shotguns. You are aware it is often illegal to hunt deer with a shotgun and there are many semi auto and magazine fed shotguns?

Didn't a hotel security officer get shot by Paddock?
And I bet the concert venue was heavily secured by both security and police offers. But he was shooting from high up and far away.
And they should have their wish fulfilled, but best to have it happen in the parking lot when they cant gain entry to a secure building.
I support whatever it takes to keep guns out of schools.
1.3 million active duty all over the world and 800,000 in Reserve.
I also acknowledge that most schools will never experience a mass shooting no matter what they do, or not.
