Any conjecture about what Reagan would do or not is totally immaterial now. The world and the United States are both completely different now, 38 years later.
History can be argued any way anyone wants, but the past is fixed and won't ever change. Reagan was a man of his times, and those times are long gone.
I'm very tired of right-wingers thinking they have the right to spew intolerance and hatred without consequences, but nobody has the right to call them out for it.
