OMG... liberals are all aghast about killing animals............yet

so here...Africa welcomes hunters
Hunting South Africa - African Hunting Safaris
Quote:
The South African hunting industry, welcome thousands of hunters to our country every year who openly document their hunting safaris.
Because of the high commercial value provided by trophy hunting, game currently occupies more privately owned land in South Africa than cattle. A remarkable amount of species have been brought back from the brink of extinction due largely (and in some cases, almost completely) to trophy hunting, including sable antelope, black wildebeest, bontebok and even rhino. Lions, elephant, buffalo and leopard are not being hunted unchecked and into extinction – on the contrary. Hunting the Big Five (and big game in general) is a highly controlled, meticulously monitored and completely legal endeavor.

yet.... liberals will do nothing about humans being hunted and exterminated in Darfur and Somalia

WHY are they threatened? <if you actually care, you need to know this>

If you read, you'll find the answer and it's not trophy hunts.

It's habitat loss and encroachment on what are known as "paper parks" (if you don't know the term, learn it)

The money that goes into the local government, even if it doesn't trickle down to the people STILL encourages enforcement of the parks boundaries. I frankly don't give 2 chits if warlord X is getting enough money to buy a landrover if it preserves the parks in whatever country. HABITAT PRESERVATION IS KEY as it protects not just the Elephant but the snakes, birds, insects and so on and so forth.

Lastly, why not just use google?

Here, just type "elephant culling in africa" and there it is....

If a species is threatened you don't improve the situation by allowing trophy hunting. Of course poaching and loss of habitat are the major causes but why would you exacerbate the death rate by allowing a bunch of wealthy safari club members to get their nut by killing a beautiful animal like that. I have no issue with hunting my dad and brother both hunted but we ate what they killed, they didn't pose for pictures holding an elephant tail for God's sake, and trophy hunting shouldn't even be called a sport it's like killing pheasant that are confined in a cage.
And this source lists trophy hunting along with poaching and loss of habitat for the reasons that elephants are threatened:
Elephants Are Threatened

Lightbulb And Now Let's Kill the Elephants

tRump: "It'll be a case by case basis."

So, what will it take...

...for a case to be approved?

The race is on among the Trump family and friends to bag an elephant before they go extinct. Trumpers, better hurry if you want be able to shoot one and get it on your wall before they’re gone.

Maybe I failed to understand what I was reading, but it seems that Trump still believes hunting elephants is a "horror show":.

The only change will be that some trophies will be permitted on a case by case basis.

The criteria for making these determinations is still in process.

A while ago he reversed the trophy law that had been installed by Obama. There was a huge outcry and he then reversed his decision. Now he has reversed again, but with a "case to case" basis. The government has the time and resources to decide "case by case"?
