The Constitution makes it clear that the Fed govt is in charge of setting and enforcing immigration policy. But the loons in California govt have been passing laws saying illegal aliens can stay, in defiance of Federal law. So the Fed is cracking down on them.

If Calif had made laws saying you could take a black man off the street, put chains on him, and force him to work on your farm for little subsistence and no pay, the Fed govt should react the same way. That's against Federal law, too.

It's about time.

Justice Department sues California over sanctuary laws

By Bob Egelko and Hamed Aleaziz
Updated 9:31 pm, Tuesday, March 6, 2018

After struggling in court for the last year to strip federal funds from California and sanctuary cities like San Francisco for refusing to aid federal immigration agents, the Trump administration filed suit Tuesday accusing the state of unconstitutionally interfering with immigration enforcement.

Three state laws enacted in 2017 “reflect a deliberate effort by California to obstruct the United States’ enforcement of federal immigration laws,” the Justice Department said in a lawsuit in federal court in Sacramento. The suit seeks to overturn all three laws.

In remarks prepared for delivery Wednesday to a law enforcement gathering in Sacramento, Attorney General Jeff Sessions said the Trump administration would “fight these unjust, unfair and unconstitutional policies that have been imposed on you.”

Expect major crying and hand wringing, protestors beating drums uselessly and various other forms of liberal standard outrage.

He shouldn't bother with lawsuits. He should arrest the mayors and councils of these cities, and any judges who stand in his way.

We have gotten to a very strange place in this country where the lawbreakers are recognized by some as the good guys. This cannot be allowed to stand.

That's the problem. Federal Gov is in charge of it, but Trump wants States to enforce it.

There are 14 Republican House seats in California. Kick them out of office in 2018. Their party has weaponized SALT and is now suing California, trying to make the state act as federal agents. Since Democrats only need 24 seats, those 14 would be very helpful.

California, there are 14 Republicans in the state to vote out in November. We only need 24. The best way to stop Trump is to kick out the 14 Republicans. Don't let Trump keep kicking the 6th largest economy in the world in the face. Look what Trump did with SALT, now the lawsuit? Vote out the 14 Republicans, that will actually accomplish A LOT.

So you are OK when LE from other states refuse to cooperate with CA?

Somebody robs a bank in CA, flees to AZ and you are OK if AZ refuses to send them back to CA?

Got it.

Maybe it's time for CA to leave the USA.

More misinformation, and disinformation from the Left. You are absolutely wrong.
