I agree, he is doing something past Presidents couldn't do.

Liberals thought he was going to start a nuclear war; quite the opposite

Kim Jung Un must have been feeling the sanctions himself personally to agree to this (because he doesn't care about his own people).

The Trump Admin put pressure on China to pressure Missile Boy. S. Korea was just the mouthpiece. China brokered this deal. Again, cautious optimism.

Trump wins again, accomplished in one year what Obama couldn't in 8 years.

That's idealistic but not gonna happen when NK puts a bullseye on the US and uses us as their reason for being such a chitty country.

Direct discussions may be possible in the near future.

Can we trust North Korea? Will Trump meet with Kim at the DNZ?
I think Trump should go on into Pyongyang and show Un who's the boss.

If there is a meeting, it will be because Putin arranged and choreographed it. I doubt Donnie could find NK on a map.

Amazing. Fair trade deals, tax cuts, illegals leaving, NK talking . . . No wonder the media and the swamp hate this guy.

I think Putin is behind it. A nuclear war that shuts down Tokyo and Beijing would be very bad for Russian business interests and the global economy.

Watching it live, 19:27 EST, Fox analysts:

Trump has agreed to meet with Kim Jong Un. I cannot believe I am typing these words. National Security Adviser of South Korea just made the announcement, not many minutes ago as this thread mentions. Kim Jong Un will probably need to travel; wonder if will be at the border village or will he go outside PDRK?

North Korea has agreed to refrain from additional nuclear testing, in the interim.

Unprecedented. Asounding. I am speechless. Major announcement.

My thoughts: To be honest, I thought initially this would end up in a military conflict, last fall. Clearly it did not. The future...? Not sure if I smell a huge, huge rat here either. I don't trust them. This seems like a major loss of face. What the heck is really going on....

If true, this is a foreign huge coup for my man Donald Trump. Like the weakness of his predecessors solved anything.

If false, it's egg on our face as a natoin, we're worse off than before, this cold standoff gets one step closer to hot and trust that much further away.

If Kim Jong Un "wins" and his regime is guaranteed, well, what does the world win? A fiend carries on in his police state, to continue the terror. Hmm. Less nukes, maybe. South Korea continues to prosper. Okay. But millions continue to live in poverty and horror.
