In Kennesaw, Georgia, local law says that "every head of household residing in the city limits is required to maintain a firearm."

"If you're going to commit a crime in Kennesaw and you're the criminal -- are you going to take a chance that that homeowner is a law-abiding citizen?" asked Kennesaw Mayor Derek Easterling.

That sounds completely insane but leave it to the gun worshippers to demand everyone to carry a gun. First it was they want to be ABLE to own one. Now it's they LEGALLY REQUIRE IT.

From the article:

"It may be the law in Kennesaw to own a gun, but the police department says it isn't actually enforced."

And of course the criminals know that, too.

Statist Right: you must own a gun
Statist Left: you can't own a gun

No wonder I'm an anarchist.

It's irrelevant as it is total BS.

"More or less a political statement"

It may be the law in Kennesaw to own a gun, but the police department says it isn't actually enforced...."

Knowing the law isn't enforced doesn't stop them from getting shot.

The crime rate there isn't as impressive as it is in my town, and I know a ton of people, none of whom own a gun.

Kennesaw has a population of about 30,000.
It has a crime index of 21 with 100 being the safest.

No shortage of violent and property crimes.

Are the guns paid for by the government, or by the citizen? I would think the RW would be up in arms at the government intrusion and making laws requiring anything to be mandatory after all the hoopla over the ACA.

I guess republican outrage is entirely situational. No moral anchor whatsoever.
