A Florida middle school teacher who allegedly used the n-word and advised students to avoid dating black boys has been suspended without pay for 10 days following an investigation.
Duval County math teacher David Swinyar was suspended without pay from Kernan Middle School after the district found "credible evidence" that he had "engaged in inappropriate communication" with students, including telling students that they "should not be dating all these different African American boys because they are not worth it," the district report states. The alleged incident happened in October 2017.
I wonder what the teachers personal experience has been with black people?
Still he should not spout his beliefs and he should not be in a position to teach kids to be racist.
Why is a math teacher talking to the kids about dating? One would think that should be a conversation for health class/ sex ed.
I am not sure what the purpose of this post is?
There are millions of teachers of course there will be some who do or say things they shouldn't.
Assuming this is true it appears the district is acting appropriately.
I bet the father of the young girl who got this advice, agrees 100% with the teacher.
"If your boyfriend says bad things to you and/or treats you wrong, that means he's acting like a n*****," Swinyar said, according to the report. "You all should not be dating all these different African American boys because they are not worth it."
The teacher who said it must be White, or this wouldn't be in the news.
Yes, he puts himself up as an example of a good person... Yet...
“If my daughter was dating someone who used the ‘f’ word, I wouldn’t have any respect for that n****r,” Swinyar said, according to the report.
In the same conversation about dating, Swinyar used the slur again.
“If your boyfriend says bad things to you and/or treats you wrong, that means that he’s acting like a n****r,” he said, per the report. “You all should not be dating all these different African Americans [sic] boys because they are not worth it.”
Two weeks suspension? He needs to be fired instantly.
I know a teacher that was called a bald redneck hon kee
Guess what happened to that student? Nothing.
And of course you see no difference here.
