Teaching about white privilege isn't about demonizing white people. It's about teaching the reality of the fundamental problem with our society: if you are white, you're treated like a human being, and if you're a person of color, you're harassed, followed, distrusted, dehumanized. Acknowledging privilege as a white person is an important step toward combating systemic racism.

Yes, class privilege exists, too, in certain contexts. But at the end of the day, white people go about their daily lives while black Harvard professors (read: upper middle class) get harassed by the police. So white privilege isn't something to get offended about. It's simply an advantage you're born with, and acknowledging it helps you understand how to begin to combat systemic racism. And it's important to understand the world and society from a young age.
When you are singling out white people as particularly evil because of their vile racism, sorry, you are demonizing white people.

Your example of black Harvard professor is a bad one. East Asians are not routinely harassed by the police. So following your logic, there is "Asian privilege", something they are born with and something we must understand to "combat racism". Do you see how silly this is?

Some decades ago, Italians, Greeks and Poles dominated the underclass in many areas on the east coast. People talked about "Greek problems" and "Polish problems". Those issues went away when they no longer dominated the underclass as they were not seen as "poor troublemakers". Its a class issue. You are not going to solve anything by trying to rile people up against the "white racist".

It does not mean "Only white people can be racist" which is what you are getting at. No serious dictionary will accept your definition of only whites can be racist.

I just wish that the all citizens of all countries would realize that we all share the same planet, and that skin color should not matter. This continual focus on skin color does not help the cause of peaceful coexistence, imo.

I don't share the same planet. I can't just go to the rest of the world and stand in for and surpass the natives. Americans are being forced to share their nation with the planet.
