We are not alone in ignoring his comments. The US press has also been largely silent.
The most vocal press has been Israeli papers.

One almost can think that Putin intentionally dropped that zinger to have his buddy Trump pick up on it.
However, I think Trump won't pick it up since people might rehash the argument of how much influence a certain billionaire appears to have had in the election.

I, for one, dismissed Putin's statement. I accept the position of the US Government intelligence agencies that Russia, including it leader Putin, was behind the attempt to influence the election. In short, I guess many herein did not think there was anything to discuss.

I agree. However, yet feel Americans should not allow what is termed bating.
Typical coverage of the statement by US MSM is along these lines...

Not until you read the full article do you see the entire statement by Putin which contains the word Jew.
So CNN passes the comments along without critical review.
Doesn't that silence play into the hands of US white supremacists groups?
It seems to me if the media had reported Putin suggested Russian Jews were meddling in US elections it would play into anti-Semitic stereotypes, so maybe the media is hiding it like they do when they hide minority crime ?
Putin is very calculating with his messaging. He specifically chose those three ethnic minorities. Ukrainians exacting revenge for the illegal invasion by Russian troops and the agitation of the civil war in eastern Ukraine, Tatars seeking revenge for the loss of their homeland Crimea and the violent suppression of the secessionist movement within Tatarstan, and Jews to perk the ears of the anti-semitic alt-right in the U.S. who regard Jewry as the sinister puppeteer behind all that is evil.
The best thing the American media can do is exactly what they have done; Let Putin's rhetoric fall on deaf ears.
