It always seems like the left elevates immigrants to hero status . Not just illegal immigrants but all immigrants.

There is the theme of “immigrants built this country “ which isn’t an untrue story .. but immigrants that are coming in now or ones that have come in recently are entering into a much different America .

My own grandparents on one side were immigrants as well as one parent . So I understand the immigrant story and coming to America for a better life .

But immigrants shouldn’t automatically be viewed as good . This is what the left does though, they automatically view the immigrant as a hero , hard worker and overall good .

Immigrants are just like native born people . Some are great some are good and some are just bad people .

Agree or disagree ? And why ?

Dems think they have broken the code for eternal power. That's why they swoon over "immigrants." Doesn't matter what kind. You could argue that those who overcome great odds to reach these shores are perhaps more motivated but that's just an excuse to let anybody in. The greased scientific achievements in this country were reached when there was little or no immigration.

Until after the 1960s immigrants were almost entirely from Europe. Immigrants today are unneeded to start with and act as counter-voters and counter culture. I view globalized, mass immigration as a big fat net negative. Democrats always support counter-culture, reward and praise the non-meritorious over the meritorious, and support what will increase their voter base.

I've always thought that people were people. But sure let's label, because then we can stereotype and dehumanize a bit. I believe diversity is one of our strengths, not weaknesses.

Who is dehumanizing?

The right mostly views them as net democrat voters that they can win over. Honest, clear-eyed people view global immigrants as worse than native born because in majority they are a negative influence and factor.

Being a better (or worse) person has nothing to do with birthplace.

I can't imagine why anyone would think that birthplace matters in that regard. You might as well believe in astrology.

It's about being compatible and loyal. It's not just birthplace although that gives you nationality and birthright to be there but having enough shared ancestry and culture in a place to where it's you're only homeland you relate to. That can take a few generations and can be impossibly for those too diverse. Also it can matter a lot where you spent your earliest formative years.

Here is an example of the Mayor of L.A .
Talking about illegal immigrants

“These are people we can point to in our communities as aiding our economies, as starting our businesses, as making our streets safer. My main point is, let's not go backwards," Garcetti said.”

L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti calls for 'Dreamers' to be protected at mayors meeting in Washington
